Working with rescue dogs is a very large part of our experience and included in our current training services as well.  Much of the time, it's with families and their adopted dogs, but we also work directly with area rescues and their foster families too.  Because of this, we may know of some wonderful dogs that are in training or had training with us that are still in need a wonderful new family.  We are highlighting some of those dogs on this page and have included the rescue contact information if you are interested in further information and/or availability.

Sasha

Adoption Pending!!  Romeo is available through Journey Home GSD Rescue.

He is a handsome, classic black and tan, large adult male.  Neutered, UTD on all vaccines and microchipped.

Romeo has been in boarding for while now.  He's been a little more difficult to place since he should be an only dog and with no little furry animals in the home.  He's coming into our training program so that we can work on his handler focus and leash reactivity towards other dogs.

Romeo has very high food drive so we expect him to will do well in our program.  We'll post more pics and updates!

Pharaoh

UPDATE: ADOPTED!! It was certainly bittersweet to send Pharaoh out to a foster home - especially after he had been with us through all of his puppyhood.  As it turns out though, his foster family has kept him as a permanent member of the family.  Honestly, we aren't surprised - if any of us didn't already have a houseful of dogs, we would have kept him too!

Rescue Report

Hachi was recently sprung from the Jefferson City Animal Shelter and is now available through Journey Home GSD Rescue.

The great staff at the shelter recognized him as a dog with potential despite having been raised on a chain and dropped off for euthanasia.  He is a gentle, smaller adult male, neutered, UTD on vaccines and microchipped.

Hachi received some generous donation dollars so that he could get some specialized training.  We will be working with him to continue to show him the best life off of a chain.  We'll work on some basic obedience skills (leash walking, coming when called, etc.) and through engagement show him how good things come from us.  He's already on board with food rewards, so we feel he'll jump on board quick!

UPDATE:  Adopted!!  After a couple of false starts (through no fault of her own), Sasha has found a Shepherd loving home!  We are so thankful and happy to see her finally have a permanent home and family to call her own, and hopefully soon she'll have a new Shepherd brother or sister to play with!
